Local Charity Responds with Emergency Relief Grant

Fairfield, CT…Before the winds subsided on October 30, 2012, Near & Far Aid President Jeanne Burris and Vice President Bitsy Higgins worked their cell phones checking in with local non-profit agency partners to assess the needs on the ground and offer a helping hand.

2012 Annual Meeting of Near & Far Aid

"We are targeting poverty and changing lives,” declared Jeanne Burris, President of Near & Far Aid, to a packed room of donors, sponsors, grantees and volunteers. Near & Far Aid, an all volunteer fund raising and fund granting organization based in Fairfield County, held their annual meeting on Tuesday evening at the Pequot Library in Southport, CT.

With the snow melting away the last signs of winter, many residents in Fairfield County are dreaming of spring and the warmer days to come. Scores of volunteers have been busy helping prepare for philanthropic organization Near & Far Aid’s celebrated Designer House Tour. The event, which will take place on Friday, April 29th, will feature an inside-look at five extraordinary homes in the prominent enclaves of Westport, Greenfield Hill, and Southport, Connecticut, each professionally decorated by prominent interior designers.

Gala Wine Party

A beautiful, private home in Westport was the location for the 2011 Gala Wine Party. This event brings together Near & Far Aid supporters and sponsors who donate fine wines and vintage champagnes that will then be featured in the Rare Wine Auction at the 2011 Spring Gala.

Near & Far Aid Shopping Night at Mitchells of Westport

Near and Far Aid Shopping night was held at Mitchells of Westport on December 15th, 2010.  Longtime supporter,  Mitchells opened their doors for the evening in support of Near and Far Aid.  Shoppers gathered to sip wine, sample hors d'oeuvres and shop for a great cause.

Standing room only crowd for Near & Far Aid’s premiere “One Night Band” event

Over 250 people descended on the Fairfield Theatre Company on Thursday, Oct. 21 to attend Near & Far Aid's premiere “One Night Band: A Concert and Cocktails for a Cause.” Light bulbs were flashing as guests walked the red carpet to enter the splashy pre-concert party tent filled with a festive crowd of Near & Far Aid supporters, guests and sponsors.

10th Near & Far Aid Golf Classic thrives under all conditions!

Neither rain, nor wind nor tough economic conditions could keep the 10th annual Near & Far Aid Golf Classic down. This year, it was the weather that tried to dampen play at the Country Club of Fairfield on September 27, 2010. Golfers teed off under misty conditions and heavy rain forced the players off the field after three hours, but once again the tournament was a shining success for Near & Far Aid and its lead sponsor, Fairfield County Bank.
